I have observed safety in the kitchen for many years. When I get home from school, my grandmother is in the process of cooking. When she's cooking in the oven, she pulls the rack out and carefully takes out the food. She has on oven mittens through this process. She turns the handle of pots inward. When she has to go in the cabinet, she doesn't leave the doors open. She closes them, so she doesn't run into them and hurt herself. This is what I've observed for the past four years.

S.Orozco 5th period Many people clean raw meats in the sink. After cleaning the meat they usually clean the sink. This is something that must be done! The sink may look clean but it's really not, there could be bacteria from the raw meat on it. If it's not cleaned properly someone could get sick. Cleaning the sink and other equipment is a very important safety and sanitation procedure.
M.Pesina -5th Period On one normal day after school my cousin comes home saying she would cook today. I was amazed since those words have never been words she would use. Instead she would say she didnt like or wouldnt want to cook. She started out slowly but then she started rushing I guess she just wanted to get done. She grabbed the knife and started cutting a potato, she was cutting too fast that when she got to the end of the potato she cut her finger.Blood started coming out and she screamed I didnt want to do since I was scared myself. Then I found something to put pressure on her finger so it would stop bleeding and went to look for our first aid box. She learned she had to be real careful with what she did while cooking.
