The first part of CPR gives the person the oxygen they need in order to live when they can no longer breathe on their own. The second part gives the person's body the blood flow it needs to live when the heart has stopped and it is no longer pumping the blood to the person's body and organs, including the brain. A person needs oxygen rich blood to travel throughout the body in order for the body to stay alive. CPR does this for a time when the person's heart and lungs are no longer doing it.CPR and the Heimlich maneuver save lives.
I would say that it is very(really) important to know what you are doing and to know and make sure that it is very simple to do and not difficult to do at all if you know all the steps for the CPR and know when to do it and how to in case of an emergency at all time
The basic steps for CPR are to attempt to wake the victim. You should start chest compressions. Rescue breathing should then be put into action. Repeat chest compressions and rescue breaths. After two minutes of chest compressions and rescue breaths, stop compressions and recheck victim for breathing. If the victim still isn't breathing, repeat CPR until the ambulance arrives.
The procedures for the heimlich maneuver are simple. From behind, wrap your arms around the victim's waist. Make a fist and place the thumb side of your fist against the victim's upper abdomen, below the ribcage and above the navel. Then, grasp your fist with your other hand and press into their upper abdomen with a quick upward thrust.
For the heimlich maneuver: 1.Stay Safe! Remember that victims may panic and inadvertently strike out.
2.Establish that the victim is actually choking. Choking victims cannot speak, cough, or breath.
3.Stand behind the victim.
4.Wrap your hands around the victim as if to give a hug.
5.Make a fist with your right hand and place it just above the victim's belly button - see graphic.
6.Grab your fist with your left and thrust inwards and upwards forcefully.
7.Repeat thrusts until the victim is able to breath again - or until the victim becomes unconscious.
8.If the victim becomes unconscious, begin adult CPR if the victim is over 8 years old and child CPR if the victim is between 1 and 8 years old.
For CPR: 1.Attempt to wake victim. If the victim is not breathing (or is just gasping for breath), call 911 immediately and go to step 2. If someone else is there to help, one of you call 911 while the other moves on to step 2. If the victim is breathing, see the Tips section at the bottom of this page for what to do.
2.Begin chest compressions. If the victim is not breathing, place the heel of your hand in the middle of his chest. Put your other hand on top of the first with your fingers interlaced. Compress the chest at least 2 inches (4-5 cm). Allow the chest to completely recoil before the next compression. Compress the chest at a rate of at least 100 pushes per minute. Perform 30 compressions at this rate (should take you about 18 seconds). If you are not trained in CPR, continue to do chest compressions until help arrives or the victim wakes up.
It's normal to feel pops and snaps when you first begin chest compressions - DON'T STOP! You're not going to make the victim worse.
3.Begin rescue breathing. If you have been trained in CPR, after 30 compressions, open the victim's airway using the head-tilt, chin-lift method. Pinch the victim's nose and make a seal over the victim's mouth with yours. Use a CPR mask if available. Give the victim a breath big enough to make the chest rise. Let the chest fall, then repeat the rescue breath once more. If the chest doesn't rise on the first breath, reposition the head and try again. Whether it works on the second try or not, go to step 4. If you don't feel comfortable with this step, just continue to do chest compressions at a rate of at least 100/minute.
4.Repeat chest compressions. Do 30 more chest compressions just like you did the first time.
A.Woods - 5th block The Heimlich maneuver is a procedure you can use to help someone who is choking.Do not slap the victim on the back. Dislodging the airway obstruction while the victim is upright will result in a deeper obstruction (gravity will pull it down). Grab your fist with your left and thrust inwards and upwards forcefully.
To performing CPR you must lean the person head back your perfoming on and, give mouth to mouth. When giving mouth to mouth look for a rise in the cest. if dhat don work you would put both hands on the cest (the side where the heart is located) and pump 5 times. For the Heimlich Maneuver you would get behind the person and place your had a little below there belly bouttn and push in to try to claer the aor way to keep dem from choking.
Instructions CPR Check if the person is conscious. If he appears not to be, gently tap or shake his shoulder and ask, "Are you OK?" If the person is non-responsive, have someone call 911 while you begin CPR. If you are alone and your phone is handy, call 911 unless it appears the person is unresponsive because of suffocation. In this case only, perform CPR for one minute before calling 911. If he is still unresponsive, shock the person once with an automated external defibrillator (AED) if one is available and you are trained to use it, following the machine's specific instructions. Put the person on his back on a firm surface if he is not already on such a surface. Kneel next to his neck and shoulders. Place the heel of one hand between the person's nipples. Place your other hand on top of your hand and compress at least two inches straight down, using your entire upper body weight. Keep your elbows straight and make sure your shoulders are directly above your hands. Check the airway if you are trained in CPR and have completed 30 chest compressions. Place your hand on the person's forehead and tilt his head back. With your other hand gently lift the chin forward. Check for the motions and sounds of normal breathing for no more than five or 10 seconds. Note that gasping is not normal breathing. If the person is not breathing normally, and you are trained in CPR, begin mouth-to-mouth breathing. If you believe the person has suffered a heart attack continue chest compressions in lieu of mouth-to-mouth. Pinch the individual's nose shut and cover his mouth with yours, creating a seal. The person's airway must be open before you do this. Open the airway by the head-tilt chin-lift action undertaken in Step 3. Give one breath lasting one second. Watch to see if the chest rises. If it does not, administer another breath. Resume chest compressions. One cycle consists of two rescue breaths and 30 compressions. Continue the cycles of breaths and chest compressions. If after five cycles the person has still not begun moving, administer a shock with an AED as the machine's instructions outline if the machine is available and you are trained to use it. If it is not available, continue the breaths and compressions cycle until the person begins moving or until medical personnel arrive and take over.
S. Orozco 5th period For CPR you first try to wake the victim. Then begin chest compressions, begin rescue breathing. Repeat these steps for two minutes then recheck victim for breathing. If victim is still not breathing, repeat CPR until the ambulance arrives.
The basic step for preforming CPR is 1)check to see if the person is breathing 2)pump the person's chest 2inches 30 times 3)tilt the person's head up, pinch the person's nose, and cover the person's mouth with yours, blow until the chest rises give 2 breaths. For heimlich maneuver 1 Ask the choking person to stand if he or she is sitting. 2 Place yourself slightly behind the standing victim. 3 Reassure the victim that you know the Heimlich maneuver and are going to help. 4Place your arms around the victim's waist. 5 Make a fist with one hand and place your thumb toward the victim, just above his or her belly button. 6 Grab your fist with your other hand. 7. Deliver five upward squeeze-thrusts into the abdomen. 8. Make each squeeze-thrust strong enough to dislodge a foreign body. 9. Understand that your thrusts make the diaphragm move air out of the victim's lungs, creating a kind of artificial cough. 10 Keep a firm grip on the victim, since he or she can lose consciousness and fall to the ground if the Heimlich maneuver is not effective. 11 Repeat the Heimlich maneuver until the foreign body is expelled
CPR requires much skill and concentration. first, what you have to do is to lay the person flat on their back. then, tilt the head upward to open the airway. then, give 20 pumps on the chest to help the person breathe.
2. Push down in the center of the chest 2 inches 30 times.
3.Tilt the head back and lift the chin. Pinch nose and cover the mouth with yours and blow until you see the chest rise. Give 2 breaths. Each breath should take 1 second.
What should you do for CPR and the Heimlich maneuver? In CPR, check to see if the victim is unresponsive, push down and up on chest, and blow. In the Heimlich maneuver, stand behind the victim, and pump the chest. Keep doing it till whatever is out of victim's throat.
6th blk Check the victim for unresponsiveness. If the person is not responsive and not breathing or not breathing normally. Call 911 and return to the victim. In most locations the emergency dispatcher can assist you with CPR instructions. If the victim is still not breathing normally, coughing or moving, begin chest compressions. Push down in the center of the chest 2 inches 30 times. Pump hard and fast at the rate of at least 100/minute, faster than once per second.
Tilt the head back and lift the chin. Pinch nose and cover the mouth with yours and blow until you see the chest rise. Give 2 breaths. Each breath should take 1 second
The first 2 steps will be the same as rescue breathing because this is the initial assessment. This part is very important and determines weather rescue breathing, CPR, or unconscious choking steps should be executed.
When you perform the Heimlich Maneuver follow these steps: 1. Stand behind the choking person and slightly bend them forward. 2. Make a fist with one hand and cover it with the other. 3. Put your hand in the persons abdomen and push upwards until the object comes out.
When performing CPR follow these steps: 1. Check to see if the victim is breathing or gasping for air, if not call 911. 2. Begin chest compressions. Place the heel of one hand in the middle of their chest with the other hand placed on top, and compress the chest at least 2 inches. 3. Start rescue breathing. 4. Repeat chest compressions.
Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is an emergency procedure which is performed in an effort to manually preserve intact brain function until further measures are taken to restore spontaneous blood circulation and breathing in a person
The steps for CPR are simple. You pump the chest 30 times. Pump hard and fast at the rate of at least 100/minute. Then you tilt their head back and blow in their mouth to give them air. In the heimlich maneuver, you make a fist and place under the belly button. Place your other hand over it and push up. Continue this till the person coughs up what they're choking on.
1. First step is to tap their shoulder and shout “are you okay?” This is to test their responsiveness. You don’t want to perform CPR on someone that doesn’t need it. If they do not respond then either you call 9-1-1 or you designate someone to call 9-1-1. Make sure that you call 9-1-1 before performing CPR. They may give you further instructions on what to do.
2. Next you need to open their airway. This is done by tilting their head back and lifting up the chin. This is to ensure that there is nothing blocking the airway and that when you breath in it goes into their lungs.
3. Now you need to check to see if they are breathing.
Place your head above their mouth.
Feel if there is any air hitting your cheek.
Listen for any air escaping their mouth.
And look to see if their chest is inflating.
If they are already breathing on their own then no need to perform CPR.
4. Now here is where the resuscitation comes in. You need to give them 2 FULL breaths of air. Make sure that you pinch their nose before you breath into their mouth. You don’t want the air going in the mouth and coming out of the nose. Also be sure to tilt their head and lift the chin EACH time so that the airway is open.
5. Checking the pulse is a big step. No need to give CPR on someone that is has a beating heart. The whole point of chest compressions is to get the heart to beat. To check the pulse on a CPR victim, you must check it NOT on the wrist but ON the charotid artery that is located on your neck. First be able to find your own pulse on the neck before you try to find it on other people.
6. Here is where you give chest compressions to try and revive the heart. Now for an adult you need to use both hands, one on top the other, fingers interlocked and arms straight. Now position yourself directly over the body and place your hand in between the breast muscles at the nipple line. Now for adults you need to thrust down about 1 ½ inch to 2 inches. Now do that same motion 30 times. Be sure to press down deep enough and release up. If you don’t release up then the blood can’t rush out of the heart. This process of compressions is suppose to be pumping the heart. Do not do the compressions to slow. The faster the better but remember to release up. So it’s thrust down, release up, thrust down, release up, 30 times. This can be very tiring but make sure you complete all 30. Compressions are just as important as the breaths.
7. After compressions give 2 FULL breaths again while pinching the nose.
8. Then another set of 30 compressions.
9. Repeat steps 7 and 8 until you have done both 5 times alternating. So its give the 2 breaths, do compressions, 2 breaths, compressions, 2 breaths, compressions, 2 breaths, compressions, and lastly 2 breaths, compressions. That is one full cycle of CPR. It can be exhausting so if there are two people in an emergency situation that know CPR, you might want to switch between people.
10. After the cycle is done, then it is time to check the victim again. Check their breathing and check their pulse. If they still do not respond then give another cycle of CPR. If they become conscious during CPR then no need to finish the cycle. If they still are not responding after continued CPR cycles then wait for ambulance to come. But keep checking their breathing and pulse every few minutes.
Well those are the steps on how to perform CPR on adults
The basic steps for performing CPR is really easy. First try to wake the person. Second begin chest compressions. Third give that person two breaths. Finally Keep doing CPR and call 911 after 2 minutes. The Next thing we have is the Heimlich Maneuver. What we does first is with the person standing or sitting, stand closely behind him and wrap your arms around his waist. And make a fist with one of your hands. While doing this repeat the quick thrusts until the object comes out.
From behind, wrap your arms around the viticm's waist. Make sure you don't squeez the ribcage. When you have your hands around the person waist squeez until tbe item they was chocking on come out.

Instructions
CPR
Check if the person is conscious.

For CPR you first try to wake the victim.
ReplyDeleteFor heimlich maneuver
1 Ask the choking person to stand if he or she is sitting.
11 Repeat the Heimlich maneuver until the foreign body is expelled

push the chest and give mouth to mouth. you have to cont. giving cpr until the person have stop choking.
CPR requires much skill and concentration. first, what you have to do is to lay the person flat on their back. then, tilt the head upward to open the airway. then, give 20 pumps on the chest to help the person breathe.
ReplyDeletepump down on the persons chest if need be open there mouths and breath into their moths two to three times

ReplyDelete# Basic Steps
1. Call 911 and return to the victim
ReplyDelete6th blk Check the victim for unresponsiveness. If the person is not responsive and not breathing or not breathing normally. Call 911 and return to the victim. In most locations the emergency dispatcher can assist you with CPR instructions.
ReplyDeleteIf the victim is still not breathing normally, coughing or moving, begin chest compressions.
ReplyDeleteWhen you perform the Heimlich Maneuver follow these steps:
ReplyDelete1. Stand behind the choking person and slightly bend them forward.
2. Make a fist with one hand and cover it with the other.
3. Put your hand in the persons abdomen and push upwards until the object comes out.
When performing CPR follow these steps:

The steps for performing CPR.

ReplyDeleteThe first part of CPR gives the person the oxygen they need in order to live when they can no longer breathe on their own. The second part gives the person's body the blood flow it needs to live when the heart has stopped and it is no longer pumping the blood to the person's body and organs, including the brain. A person needs oxygen rich blood to travel throughout the body in order for the body to stay alive. CPR does this for a time when the person's heart and lungs are no longer doing it. It is most important to keep oxygen going to the brain and the heart. The heart and the brain can recover if CPR is done quickly and it is done in the right way. The brain will die and the person will die within a couple of minutes after the heart stops if CPR is not given. CPR can be done on adults, children, infants and even pets. It saves thousands of lives every year.
