What is a common philosophy in the foodservice industry?

People have high expectations when they go out to places from the mall to a business meeting or even a school. The same thing applies at a restaurant or fast food place. When I go to a restaurant, I expect my food to be exceptional. I don't want to find any hair in my food. It would highly disgust me. I wouldn't want any one else eating there. It shows the restaurant doesn't have good sanitation or check their food before serving their customers. This leads to poor presentation of food. I don't expect it to be the perfect meal , but I expect something close. Quality and presentation of food is very important.

What is a common philosophy in the foodservice industry? The food service industry refers to any company or business essential to the preparation and distribution of food products outside of the home. Components of the food service industry include food service distributors, counter and table servers, and food service providers. Restaurants and bars are all a part of it. These establishments fall under the category of counter and table service. The food is prepared by a cook or chef and is presented by wait staff.

The common philosophy of the food service industry would probably customer satisfaction. That way the customer will stay faithful to that restaurant providing more business. The customer, being impressed by the service of the industry and being completely satisfied, they are more likely to come back. I believe that is the most important philosophy.

There are different philosophies in the food service, but the most common is customer satisfaction. They always want the customers to be pleased when they leave. They do their best to satisfy the customer. They make sure the place is clean, the food is good and well, and also they treat them with respect and kindness.

The common philosophy of the food service industry would be sanitation. A clean environment is a major plus for the customer and for the business. If a customer feels like the place is safe and get good vibes off of it, they will probably come more. I think that's the most important.

A common philosophy in the food service industry is that all food must meet the customers satisfaction. The customer is always right. If the customer is impressed with their food and the service then he/she will come back and bring more people with them. Also, the presentation of the food is very important to the customer. If the food is fixed sloppy or the order is wrong then customer will be unsatisfied and will want the food line to fix it again or walk out and never come back. If this keeps happening then the restaurant will lose business and get a bad review.

A common philosophy in the food service industry is the quailty of the food, how clean the place is, and also the way you are treated. People are not going to eat somewhere that has poor food.Having delicious food makes you want to come back to restaurants. Treatng customers right and havng a clean place makes people trust you with cookng their food.Caring and quality are very important when it comes down to the foodservice industry.

The comman philosophy of the food service network would be to present your customers with top notch cleaness. The reason why i say that is because no one wants to go to a resturant that isnt clean . So thats the meaning of comman philiosophy to me.

  18. The comman philosophy of the food service is to make sure your food is clean and good. When you have a bad saying of your company then no one will come to your place and eat. You have to think of others if the ispector comes in and your place is dirty the will give you a bad score and if it continues to be nasty then they will close your place down thats why you need to make sure your place is clean and you have good food.

I think one important philosophy would be the satisfaction of the customers. If the customers are not happy then the will not come back to the restaurant and that company will not make business. If the food is good, then customers would leave satisfied and might suggest it to some of their friends and the restaurant will make profit.

I think the common philosophy of the food network is to present you'r customers with how the food taste, respect, and how clean they is. Because nobody wants to go to a resturant that the food is NASTY, if they don't have manners for their customers, and their food is NASTY also. Well thats what i think the philosophy of the food network is.

I believe that the custumer satisfaction is very important. As well as how clean the restaurant is, because I wouldn't want to eat at a palce that is not clean it would make me sick, and I would not recomend it to anyone or even go back!

A common philosophy of the foodservice network is consumer satisfaction. If the food isn't good or if the service is bad the costumer will not want to go back. If the costumer is satisfied with the food and service they might suggest the restaraunt to their friends. By being suggested to other people the business will thrive and continue to grow.

A common philosophy in the food industry would be the satisfaction of the customers. Restaurants should be able to please the needs of the customers. When I go to a restaurant I expect them to give me what I want since im paying them. Also the way the restaurant looks ,and the behavior of the waitresses. I dont like to go in a restaurant where people are rude. The philosopy of all restaurant should be to offer the best service and become the best restaurant.

As it exists today, the domestic food and beverage industry is a very competitive and mature industry with little domestic growth. Increases in a company’s market share usually come at the expense of a competitor’s loss of market share (cannibalization). Overall most growth comes from international expansion. With the passage of NAFTA and GATT, many domestic companies are either entering into alliances with foreign entities, or acquiring them. There are many reasons for this. For example, much domestic food and beverage companies want to take advantage of existing distribution systems, or underutilized plant capacity. Some acquisitions may be motivated by Federal income tax considerations.

From the time that agriculture began about 7,000 years ago to the present there have been many important developments that are responsible for the state of the industry as it is today. The following events have had a major impact on where the industry is today.

    Event
    Explanation

    IRRIGATION
The use of some form of irrigation is well documented throughout the history of civilization. It has enabled food production to occur in areas previously too hostile for plants and to counter the effects of drought.

    INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION
Resulted in mass production of food products at lower cost and consistent characteristics.

    FOOD PRESERVATIVES
Classified into two main groups, antioxidants that delay or prevent the deterioration of foods by oxidative materials and antimicrobial agents that inhibit the growth of spoilage and pathogenic microorganisms in food.

    PACKAGING
Tinned products came to America in 1822 and allowed food to be stored for long periods of time. Some packaging processes were developed to enable Napoleon’s armies to carry war to distant areas and remain well fed.

    PASTEURIZATION
A partial sterilization accomplished by raising milk to a temperature high enough to destroy pathogenic bacteria. This process allows milk to remain consumable for about 14 days if refrigerated in closed containers.

    TRANSPORTATION
First, railroads and barges, then trucks and air transportation have enabled many food products to be enjoyed in regions where food cannot be grown. Many locally grown food products can be consumed globally (bananas, fish, fruit, etc.).

    PESTICIDES
Enabled farmers to significantly increase yield.

    NUTRITION
In the 1950’s and forward, nutrition became a major concern for production/consumption. The emphasis on eating healthy has spawned a new market segment; for example organic foods, low-fat foods and healthy foods all enjoy healthy margins and increased demand.

All of the aforementioned technological developments have played a major role in the evolution of the food and beverage industry. There have also been some business developments that have had an impact on the current state of the industry.

    Event
    Explanation

    FUTURES MARKETS
Many food manufacturers participate in the futures markets by entering into futures contracts to “hedge” against price fluctuations for their inventories of raw materials.

    GOVERNMENT AGENCIES
OSHA and the FDA, have had a dramatic effect on the meat and food processing plants. They have helped ensure safety in production and consumption.

    PRODUCT BRANDING
Branding of products is accomplished by extensive advertising, in many instances this product advertising costs more than the cost of production. Branding is partially responsible for the emergence of radio and television (soap operas).

    FRANCHISING
In the 1950’s and 1960’s, the concept of franchised restaurants was promoted. This enabled franchisers to expand with limited capital investment.

    MERGERS and ACQUISITIONS
In the 1980’s there were many mergers and acquisitions of food and beverage companies. This trend continues today. Many companies are actively buying and selling brands like baseball teams trade players.
