Five rules for safety: if you had to choose only five rules to put in place for the kitchen lab to make it safer, what would they be?

    . Make sure too many cords aren't plugged into the power strip.
    . Make proper equipment is in a close range.
    . Read directions before doing task.
    . Heed your teacher's warnings/directions.

    My first rule is to wear proper close in the kitchen .. It will help people be safer in the kitchen .. The next would be tie long hair back .. It will prevent things inside the food .. Always wash and with warm water and soap before handling the food .. Close all cabent doors to prevent someone from injury ..

    1. Tie long hair back and wear tight fitting clothing.
    2. No running or horseplaying of any kind in the kitchen for any reason at all.
    3. Always wash your hands thoroughly with warm soapy area before handling food.
    4. Keep your area clean to avoid any falls or trips of any kind. Also keep obstacles or any other potential hazard clear from the kitchen.
    5. Be aware of any evacuation plan or fire emergency plan in case of fire.

    The five safety rules I would put in my kitchen would be:
    Wash your hands at all times
    Keep hair ties back and away from food.
    No nail polish or acrylic nails
    No wet hands around anthing electrical
    Do not wear loose fit clothes.

    - Wash hands before leaving laboratory.

    - Launder clothing worn in laboratory separately from other clothing.

    - Never eat, drink or apply cosmetics in a laboratory or areas where chemicals/hazardous agents are stored. (Smoking is prohibited in all areas, including laboratories.)

    - Never store food in a refrigerator where hazardous materials are stored.

    - Avoid situating long hair, loose sleeves/cuffs, rings, bracelets, etc. in close proximity to open flames or operating machinery.

    3.make sure you wash your hands before doing anything.

  14. 1-) Clean up spills immediately to prevent falls.
    2-)To prevent cuts keep knives sharp, use a
    cutting board, cut away from you.
    3-)Use salt or baking soda, not water, to put out a grease fire to prevent fires and burns.
    4-) Read appliance booklets before using appliances, before using an appliance make sure hands are dry & a dry surface to prevent electric shock.
    5-)Pull back long hair.

    If I had to choose something I would choose that you should not plug the ex. cord by anything that will drip and fall in the socket and spark fire (start a fire). But I think that it is safe to use different things in the kitchen but not all at once though. (Keeping the cabnet open, tie hair back while cooking, watch the grease while cooking *so it want spill over*, never cook food with the stove up really high, clean food or grease spills if fallen in the oven or on the stove caps so it will not spark fire or starts to smoke)

    There are alot of rules to being safe.I will give you some. First never run with an knife in the in the kitchen. Also never unplug electrial items wit an wet had. Never take things out tthe oven wit towels or anything that can catch on fire. Also always walk in the kitchen.

    Five rules for safety are as follow:
    1. Never run and play in the kitchen ares.
    2, Always carry a knife with the blade pointed downward.
    3. Always turn the handles of the cooking equipments toward the back of the stove.
    4. When something spill on the floor make sure you clean it up immediately.
    5. When there is an electrical fire in the kitchen make sure you turn off the power, and contact an electrican.

    If you had to choose five rules to put in place for the kitchen lab to make it safer, what would they be? Wash hands after cooking and before cooking. Make sure the utensils that you are going to use are clean. Clean up spills and esses immediately. Make sure the food is clean like fish, fruits, or veggies. Don't be careless with the knife. Make sure the oven is off when you're done.

  21. My rules would be: Wash hand everytime you use the restroom and before you cook. Dont run in the kitchen even if emergency.Put knifes or other sharp object in the personal rack. Cook food throughly and at the right tempature. Have great person hygiene

    4.) Disconnet appliances before cleaning them.

    *Follow manufacturers' instructions and code requirements when installing and operating cooking equipment.
    *Plug microwave ovens and other cooking appliances directly into an outlet. Never use an extension cord for a cooking appliance, as it can overload the circuit and cause a fire.
    * Tie back long hair.
    *Avoid distracting any other worker. Practical jokes or horseplay have no place in the laboratory.
    *Use equipment only for its designated purpose.

    2. No Horse Playing!
    3. Wear the appropiate clothing.

    5. ALWAYS let the instructor know about ANYTHING that may seem DANGEROUS in the kitchen area.

    2)If you drop a knife, do NOT put your foot out to break its fall, your foot could get cut.
    3)Do NOT reach for something in a hot oven, use an oven mitt.

    5)Do NOT leave knives in sinks full of water, someone could get cut.

    When I go into the kitchen, the five important rules that I choose will be: washing your hands. wear a hairnet or a hat. Do not wear lose cloths. Wear tennis shoes or any shoes that can cover you whole foot. Wear glove if you have long finger nails.

    Many people have rules that are unecessary or that people do not follow. Here are a few rules I believe those who use the kitchen must follow to assure the safety of themselves and others:
    1. No running in the kitchen.
    2. Always if someone is with you make sure you know the task of the other person that way you dont make a mistake for one another.
    3. Sharp objects must be placed away from places they can fall or hurt another person.
    4. Everyone must wear aprons and other items to avoid sickness.
    5. Follow instructions exactly.
